COVID 19 Efforts
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the swim community was stuck at home without being able to train, the SwimmersSwim page began taking off, gaining the recognition of Olympians Michael Phelps and Cody Miller while attracting a viewership of 18 million across the world. Through the sharing of videos and ideas, we united a community during a tragic time.

A New Beginning
As the physical world reeled back into our lives, we began seeing problems much more drastic than not being able to access a pool. People across our communities and the world had much more extreme problems at hand: accessing food, mental help, education, pollution, or simply not having someone to connect with. With such a big platform on our hands, we realized there was a possibility to use our media presence to bring positive change.

The Birth of UNI
After months of deliberation and rebranding, SwimmersSwim became UNI Future Together with the help of our audience and followership, reaching out to students across California in the swim community to support our cause. Within a month, we created a new community consisting of students from different schools across California. Eventually, we would reach 15 high schools and 200 members. With such differing contexts and our quick expansion, we created a new system to ensure we did right with our platform.

A New System
As UNI continued to form its identity, sticking to its technology-based social platform, we began focusing on giving back to students in California school districts through providing free technologies and necessities such as hygiene and food products.
The Present
Now
With the help of our social platform and members, UNI has been able to gain sponsorships from large regional food banks, access to surplus goods from supermarkets, organizational partnerships, and generous donations from eBay stores. While having an unconventional origin and system, we strive to use its social platforms and resources to create positive change in our communities and lives.
